GIG 2021, Round 2 (April 19 thru May 1)

Well, we're off to a bang of a start! Coy leads with 9 points (and by the way, I always appreciate it if you guys check my math... I missed an answer Coy got right originally, and I'm grateful he let me know), and a bunch of us pulling up the rear with 4.

If you didn't get a chance to answer Round 1's questions (*cough* MATT-SHANE-CRAIG-BRIAN-GALVINS-JT-JOHN-ED-JIM *cough*), you're very much in this thing!

Here are the questions for Round 2, with answers due this Monday night.

1) Four MSB pitchers threw a shutout in Round 1 (the ACLs' Williams, Sweets' Ryu, Honey Badgers' Keuchel, and Rum Runners' Strasburg). How many pitchers will throw a 9-inning shut out in Round 2 (nail it for 2 points)? Name ONE (2 points).

2) Sorry Shane. But dang... the Garden Hammers have lost 9 in a row. They start Round 2 with 12 games at home, however, so there's that. The begin with a 3-game set against the Robots, then host the Landlubbers for 3, then 2 against the Madmen. Beyond that, if you think they'll still be losing (sadness!), you can look up the schedule yourself. For 2 points (nail it), what will be the total number of the losing streak? Again, it's at 9 now.

3) Mookie Betts is off to a crazy hot start. He is #1 in the first 6 categories the database pulls up (BA, OBP, SLG, Hits, Runs, RBI). And some aren't even close between Mookie and 2nd place. He's hitting .442. Question: Is he still above .400 at the end of Round 2? One point for yes. 2 points for no.

4) The Rougarou, Rum Runners, and Sweets are all sporting team ERA's under 3:
Rougarou, 2.33
Rum Runners, 2.51
Sweets, 2.71
This round, the Rougarou face off with 3-games sets against the ACLs, Rattlers, Robots, and Maniax.
This round, the Rum Runners go 3 games each with the Kraken, ACL's, Rattlers and Landlubbers.
This round, the Sweets get 3 each with Argos, Blues, Knights, and Brewers.
Questions:
a) Will all 3 remain under a 3 ERA at the end of Round 2? (yes or no, one point)
b) Predict each team's ERA. (3 points if nailed on the nose, to the hundredth... 2 points if .10 off, 1 point if .20 off.)

5) Let's just do 5 matchups this Round, all for 1 point. Pick the winner of each 3-game set happening right away (April 19-21). You may call just ONE sweep (indicate by just writing "sweep" next to it) and get 3 points if you're right. But if you're wrong, you get zero for that matchup.
