GIG-2021 Round 9

Round 9 gets us back to the regular 13 games. Some good chances to get high points this round. Here we go.

1) Let’s get right to five great matchups coming up August 3-5. Pick the winner of each of the 3-game sets and get the points next to the team’s name. Double your points if you pick a sweep (unlimited sweep guesses this time), but get nada if it’s not a sweep.

e) Bums (2) vs Maniax (2) - this one features 2 games in Detroit, and one game in Bakersfield.

2) Last round we asked “Which team in YOUR division will have the best W-L recordin this round?” Similar to that, let’s ask this: Which team in your LEAGUE (Frick or KML) will have the best 13-game record in Round 9? Get the points in parentheses for the team you choose (based on current W/L records). Check the schedule and give it your best shot. Ties will count.

3) Let’s have some fun in the HITS category. Pick the player who you think will be leading the league in hits at the end of Round 9. The number in parenthesis is his current # of hits.
The ACLs’ Francisco Lindor (128). 1 point
The Sweets’ Hunter Dozier (125). 2 points
The ACLs’ Mookie Betts (124). 3 points
The Rougarous’ Cody Bellinger (122). 4 points.
The Field (Gleybor Torres is next with 115 hits) = 7 points.

4) The ACLs have a 191 Run Differential. No other team is in triple digits.
a) Will the ACLs get to 200 in run differential while no other team gets to 100? The Bums and Maniax are at 95 and 97 respectively. YES = 3 points. NO = 1 point.
b) Nail the ACLs Run Differential and get 2 extra points. 1 point if you’re within 3 runs.

5) Three teams clearly excel in defense above the rest of us: The Brewers, Knights, and Maniax. All boast just 44 errors in 102 games thus far.
a) Which team (among these 3) will have the fewest errors by the end of the round (ties count)?
b) Nail the number of errors the leading team will have at the end of this round for an extra 2 points. 1 point if you’re off by one error.
