GIG 2021, Round 10 (August 9 - 21)

* The Minor League Draft starts tomorrow (Sunday, Aug 15). The CO has decided to suspend DMB game running until the completion of the draft.

You have until this Monday night, Aug. 16 at midnight PST to answer the following GIG questions.

Wow - the GIG standings tightened up! 9 points separate the top 7 contenders. Crazy. Have fun with Round 10, and trust me, you're not gonna want to miss this round, especially Question 4...

1) We have a 6-way tie going for Quality Starts at 18 (Sale, Cole, Verlander, Scherzer, Marquez, Strasburg).
Question (2 points): Name a pitcher (among that group) who will get to 20 Quality Starts by the end of Round 10. If you choose to say "None" and you're right, you'll get 2 points as well.

2) The Madmen's Donaldson has a 13-game hitting streak going. Choose A, B, C, or D as your answer:
a) The hit streak will end between 13 and 16 (1 point)
b) The streak will end between 17 and 20 (3 points) * If he gets to 17, he'll have the highest win streak so far this season...
c) The streak will end between 21 and 25 (5 points)
d) The streak will continue into Round 11, meaning it'll be at 26 at the end of Round 10 (8 points)

3) The Minor League Draft is coming up while we run the games for Round 10. Questions (2 points for nailing each answer):
a) How many trades will go down DURING the draft?
b) How many trades will include a 2022 1st round draft pick?
c) How many trades will involve a player's annual contract of $10M or more?
d) How many trades will feature more than $20M in total money exchanged?
e) Name a team that will be involved in multiple trades.

4) Matchups! Weighted scores again... and guys, read carefully and choose wisely. This question - more than any other question so far this year, perhaps - has the potential to move you up the leaderboard big time if you guess well. Choose the team you predict will win the 3-game series, all happening August 10-12 on the DMB schedule.
Points System:
If you choose the team with the better record, you'll get one point. If you choose a team that is between...
... 1 and 5 games behind the team they're playing, you'll get 2 points.
... 6 and 10 games behind, that'll get you 3 points.
... 11 and 15 games behind, you'll get 4 points.
... 16 and 20 games behind, that's 5 points.
... 21 or more more back, that's a whopping 8 points.
You MUST call at least ONE sweep. "Sweep Rules" apply (0 points if the team you choose doesn't sweep, but double your points if they do!). If you do NOT call a sweep, the penalty is the loss of the highest point total of the series you correctly predicted.
