Dogs - Blues

I can’t believe I’m doing this. For a couple of reasons.

Reason #1 - I drafted and watched Vargas progress through the Dodger system since he was 18 and in A ball. And rejected multiple offers for him since then.

Reason #2 - I’m also the guy who commonly ends emails with #donttradewithKyle

But here goes:
Dogs trade Miguel Vargas to the Blues for Marco Luciano

No picks, no other players, nothing. This is just a straight up minor league challenge trade. We’ll see in a few years who won.

Blues confirm. To some of you, this might seem slightly unbalanced. I mean, Luciano is the #9 prospect in baseball (MLB.com) and doing nothing to warrant a downgrade while tearing it up in A+ ball. But Vargas, while ranked #70, is a fast-rising guy who can play all over the infield, is near a call-up, and is tearing it up in AAA.

And he's a Dodger. And Luciano is a Giant.  Maybe I shoulda just led with that.

Good working with you, my longtime rival.

I don’t think it’s unbalanced at all. #70 (and I’ve see him higher) but in AAA vs #9 but still in A ball. A lot can happen between A and AAA and hopefully MLB.

Baseball is hard and even harder to predict. Ask Spencer Torkelson and his fantasy owners.
