Game Highlights - July 3rd

~ Eight straight games for Alonso. Alonso's 34th home run of the season and Nolan Arenado's three hits and an RBI propel Bako, and newly promoted starter Josh James, to a 6-3 victory.

~ Andrew Heaney pitches in and out of trouble into the sixth inning and gives way to the Koi bullpen who allow just one hit over the final 3 2/3 to send AZ to a 2-0 win over Brooklyn.

~ Coupled with Brooklyn's loss, Chicago's 9-7 win over Scurvy completes their climb in the division and knots up the two Harwell rivals atop the division at 48-36.

Game Highlights - July 4th

~ Nine straight games with a home run for the Bums Pete Alonso, but that may be the LEAST impressive part of his night. As Bako runs away with a 14-1 win, Alonso goes 6-6 with three doubles and his 35th home run, three runs scored and five RBI.

~ Aaron Nola and Ken Giles combine for a six hit, 10 K shutout of Ann Arbor and Phoenix keeps pace with the Bums in the Scully.

~ Hawaiian falls behind 3-0 after six innings, but then strings together a walk, five singles and a double in the bottom of the sixth to score four runs. The Hammers bullpen keeps Mother Lode in check through the final three innings and Hawaiian scores the 4-3 win.

~ It's not a good night to be a pitcher in Brookyn. The Koi and Kraken combine for ten home runs (five by each team) and while the Kraken outhit the Koi, 13-10, AZ capitalizes on six walks to win the game, 13-9. Among the Koi homers are Giancarlo Stanton's 30th and 31st of the season.

~ Not to be left behind, Lakeview's Cody Bellinger goes 4-5 with a double and his 30th homer of the season along with five RBI in the Rougarou's 10-7 victory.

~ Aaaaaand just to remind everyone who the MVP frontrunner is . . . Ankeny's Mookie Betts collects three hits (including his 28th home run), scores three runs and drives in a pair. Betts now leads the league in hits (112), runs (75) and RBI (95).
