July 5-6

Game Highlights - July 5th

~ Ten straight games with a homer for Pete Alonso.  The Bums succumb to Chicago in extra innings however, 7-6, but Alonso does what he can with a pair of homers to raise his league leading total to 37.

~ Entering the bottom of the ninth trailing by two, Moostruck first blasts its way to a tie when Max Muncy parks a two run homer.  Then the Blues smallball Windy City with a seeing eye single through the right side, an infield single to third, and score the walk off win with back to back walks to plate the winning run.

Game Highlights - July 6th

~ Alonso's homer streak is over.  Twelve homers in ten games is the final tally.  Chicago scores early and often and Bako is unable to mount any rally on their way to an 8-4 loss.

~ Hawaiian's Miles Mikolos comes within one out of a no-hitter, giving up a two out double in the ninth inning.  Brad Wieck comes in and throws one pitch to Manny Machado who grounds out to end the game.  The Hammers take a 2-0 victory over Rolla.

By the way - what are incredible feat by Alonso. Twitter users would lose their collective mind over 10 straight games with a HR.

Assuming Twitter existed in 1996, no one cares about baseball anymore. And they should, there’s a ton of really interesting storylines this year. Most importantly the Mets are in 1st place!
