Aug. 16-18

Game Highlights - Aug. 16th

~ In this reporters opinion, Lakeview ace Walker Buehler should have been allowed to finish what he started.  Still under 100 pitches through 8 innings, Buehler had made just one mistake all night; a 1-1 offering that caught too much of the middle of the plate to Charlie Blackmon in the 5th inning and was deposited in the bleachers.  Otherwise, Buehler was dominant, striking out 10 and walking none.  In any case, the Rougarou hold on to award Buehler his 13th win  of the season with their 3-1 victory.

Game Highlights - Aug. 17th

~ Brooklyn's Danny Duffy deserved better after pitching seven shutout innings and striking out eight Windy City batters.  Unfortunately a combination of a stagnant Kraken offense that gives him just a single run of support and a bullpen that coughs up that one run lead in the eighth sinks Duffy's chances at victory.  Fortunately, Harrison Bader bails out the pen with a two run walk off homer in the ninth and Brooklyn wins, 3-1.

Game Highlig . . . . Uhhh, Lowlights? - Aug. 18th

~ There are good ways to make headlines, and then there's Roxbury's current dilemma.  The Robots are most definitely in the news, but it is for all the wrong reasons.  A sweep a the hands of the Ankeny ACL's is nothing many other teams haven't endured over the past couple years, but being outscored 26-2 in the three game set is . . . . . well, not good.  Worse for the Robots however, they have been swept by the Knights, Maniax, Rougarou, Garden Hammers, and once again the ACL's in their last five series previous!  All those brooms add up to a current 19 game losing streak for Roxbury, a level of futility that may be creeping up (or have already blown past?) an MSB record.  Some research may have to be done...
