Race Highlights

Harwell Division
~ Kraken and Rum Runners both lose. Brooklyn retains their one game lead in the Harwell.

Uecker Division
~ Bako collects their 100th win and sixth in a row, a 6-0 shutout of Rolla. Grants Pass escapes two late AZ rallies for a 5-3 win. The Brewers step out one game in front of Rolla in the Uecker division race.

Frick Conference Wild Card
~ Moonstruck takes a 4-1 victory over New York; Scurvy is shut out by Kyle Hendricks and the Argos, 4-0. The Blues move one game ahead of the Dogs in the Frick Conference wild card race. Mother Lode is still just three games back in the Uecker.

Game Highlights

~ Strange scoring in the Ankeny/Windy City tilt. The Rattlers post an eight run sixth inning which is notable in itself. However, consider how bizzarely those eight runs are scored:
   - The first two hitters, Whit Merrifield and Starling Marte both ground out weakly to open the inning before the onslaught begins.
   - The Rattlers collect just four hits.
   - The middle of the inning sees four consecutive walks by reliever Tyler Rogers, who replaces starter Shane Bieber and throws just 7 strikes in 23 pitches. Two of those walks plate runs.
   - The last two runs are driven in by run scoring doubles by Whit Merrifield and Starling Marte.
Not to be outdone in the strangeness, the ACL's manage to score two runs in the fourth . . . the fifth . . . the sixth . . . the eighth . . . and finally in the ninth, to emerge with the 10-8 victory.
