Sept 25

Playoff Race Highlights

Harwell Division
~ Brooklyn gets rocked by Ankeny 14-2.  Chicago remains alive after a 5-1 victory over Motor City.  The Harwell division will come down to the last day of the season.

Frick Wild Card
~ After tonight's results, the Frick Conference seedings are set.  Moonstruck succumbs in Mother Lode, 7-6 to fall out of the playoff picture.  Phoenix scores six runs in the fourth to come from behind and defeat Scurvy, 7-4 and take the first wild card slot.

Bako has long held the #1 seed.  With their Uecker Division title, Grants Pass secured the #2 seed.  Phoenix rises to claim the first wild card while Scurvy takes the second wild card.

Batting Title Race
~ While many of the leaders on the offensive leaderboards have been decided (Betts - 147 RBI / Alonso - 58 HR / Mondesi - 46 SB), the most intriguing race has to be for the batting title.  After his 4-5 night tonight, Ankeny's Mookie Betts takes over the lead with a .309 mark.  Lakeview's Cody Bellinger and Brooklyn's Christian Yelich are right behind at .306.  Who will have their Ted Williams day tomorrow and take home the title?

Congrats Rod and David and Brendt! My Blues’ hearts just weren’t in it this year as much as I’d hoped. Go show the rest of the league the power of the Scully.
