This is painful... Really can't believe how many 2nd (and 3rd) catchers went.

As waste of funds, but he was about all I could afford (2 yr, 300K) as I vomit a bit in my mouth.

Yes, the catcher market was interesting this year. This week there were 13 catchers up and 13 teams signed one. I wonder if the tighter limits on playing time played a role in teams trying to get their backup (or even backup to the backup). Plus, since catchers almost never get full playing time in real life, I think it forced teams to think about having 3 catchers, just in case (for example, I think Contreras and Suzuki will give me all the time I need, but I like having Gimenez there just in case I'm wrong).
