Winker, Giolito and Musgrove are all correct.  But Albie and Judge are off.  Should be:

Albies' 4.2 WAR adjusts his salary by $2.5mn to $6mn total.
Judge's 5.5 WAR adjusts his salary by $3mn to $6mn total.

Great job figuring this one out so quickly.

OK - I see where I screwed up Albies salary.  I looked at the wrong salary increase schedule but I think Judge had 6.0 WAR which would increase his salary by $4.0M to $7.0.  Not that I want to pay more, mind you.  Where did I error with Judge? Also, I show Albies WAR as 3.4.  Am I looking at the wrong stats? Help!

Are you looking at WAR on baseball reference (i.e. bWAR)?  We actually use Fangraphs (fWAR) for our arbitration where Judge is showing a 5.5, not a 6.0.

Yes, I was using Baseball Reference for my stats info.  Quite honestly I didn't think WAR varied from site to site.  Obviously it does and in Albies' case by a significant amount.  Thanks for clearing that up for me.

No problem Mike.  We think the issue is that Fangraphs loves defense much more so than Baseball Reference.

OK.  IMHO defensive ratings are a bit more subjective and prone to findings that may not pass the "sight test.' Still smoothing the bumps out I suppose. Anyway, thanks for setting me straight.

Agreed though it does cut both ways.  Judge is rated lower by Fangraphs.  My guess is primarily because of defense.

The real question is: is MLB monitoring MSB for its ideas?  https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10017936-report-mlb-proposes-basing-player-salaries-off-fangraphs-war-instead-of-arbitration
