Sweets and Rum Runners make a deal
Well a deal couldn't be reached with Kershaw, he's just too expensive for Chicago management to make things work. Chicago felt like adding some depth to the bullpen would be a wiser deal.
Recently acquired during 2019 free agency, Ty Buttrey (2021 - 900K) and 7.20 2019 (from Kraken) is sent to Walla Walla for Michael Lorenzen (2020 - 250K). Per rule, Chicago will pay half, $450K of the salary for Mr. Buttrey.
