2022 Rule Change discussion
At this time, the CO is going to put a hold on the additional rule changes until discussions can be held with the league. These further discussions and possible rule alterations revolve around our salary structure; specifically promotion thresholds, rookie contracts and our arbitration system.
We strive to stay close to MLB rules and procedures concerning those that govern MSB and in order to do that, the CO believes that it would be wise to wait until MLB finalizes their new CBA to have the discussions outlined above. This will in all likelihood (given the pace of current talks between MLB and the MLBPA) take rule change discussions beyond the timeline we prefer to keep for such things. However, taking into account that these rule adjustments would not go into effect until next winter anyway, we feel the alteration to the timeline for these discussions is warranted.
In light of the transaction freeze being lifted and impending free agency, we wanted to at least make you aware of possible changes to the above mentioned items.
