need to shed $$ - high draft pick back to you
I'd like to shed some money and make a little room on my 40-man. I'm willing to give draft picks and/or select players from the farm to make it happen.
Contracts ending in 2023:
- Nick Castellanos ($6.5). If you're rebuilding, Nick actually gives you a full season in a corner outfield spot.
- Yadier Molina ($1.86M). Again, if rebuilding, Yadi is a good defensive backup for your starting catcher.
- Josh VanMeter ($500k - I declined arbitration to him this week)
2024 contracts with upside for next season:
- Jack McGee ($2.5M).
- Joe Kelly ($2.475M).
- Richard Rodriquez ($800k). Suspended - could have a great 2024.
- John Gant ($400k). No upside here, really, I think he'll still pitch outside the US.
These all total $15.035M.
If you want them all, I'm offering my 2nd round pick plus a FanGraphs 45-ish player from my system.
If you want just the 2023 contracts ($8.86M), I'll offer my 4th round pick and one minor leaguer from the same group.
