Argonaut-Kraken Deal

The Mother Lode Argonauts and the Brooklyn Kraken have agreed to terms on a deal. After failing to acquire Justin Verlander for last year's pennant run, the Kraken have gone all in to obtain the rights to Jacob deGrom.

The Kraken send Scooter Gennett ($6M, 2021, currently in minors), Jeremy Jeffress ($3.75M, 2021), Oscar Mercado ($500, ROOKIE1), Michael Fulmer ($1M, ARB1), Luis Patino (minors) and Sean Murphy (minors) to the Argonauts.

The Argonauts agree to send Jacob deGrom (9.5M, ARB2), Ryan Braun ($2M, 2020) and the 7th pick in round 2 (acquired from the Sweets) to the Kraken.

Argonauts to confirm. As always, good dealing with you Matt. Hopefully the prospects work out for you. I'll send in a new MP shortly.

Argonauts confirm.

Much thanks for a smooth and easy and interesting trade discussion. We finally got a big name pitching deal done after talking about one last year well.  Best of luck on your playoff run.

David pointed out that this trade puts the Kraken over the salary cap due to the loss of Fulmer's ISR. To balance things out we've agreed that to add Jeff Hoffman ($500k, 2021) from the Kraken to the Argonauts to the deal.
