The Walla Walla Sweets, under new ownership, opened the 2023 MSB Free Agent season by signing veteran catcher Christian Bethancourt to a three-year contract at $1,000,000 per year. Bethancourt will share backstop duties in Walla Walla with all-star Travis d'Arnaud. He says he wants to hook one of the big sturgeon that lurk in the bottom of the nearby Snake River. Caviar anyone?
