Tucson's first five batters: single, single, walk, RBI ground out, 2 run single. The Thunder are up 3-0 before there are two outs in the top of the first. Spencer Strider and the bullpen make that hold up.
Tubemen over Dogs, 4-0
Luis Castillo throws six shutout innings to lower his ERA to 2.19. A hard luck case to date, Castillo has an excellent 1.05 WHIP to go with that ERA, but today's win raises his record to just 4-8.
Miners over Landlubbers, 10-7
Phoenix does Tucson one batter better, running out to a 3-0 lead . . . after just four batters. Albert Pujols crushes a three run homer to stake the Miners to the early lead. Unlike Tucson, Phoenix keeps on humming though, racking up five more walks and 10 more hits, and they need it as Ann Arbor makes a game of it with a five run rally in the ninth.
Auk over Hammers, 5-4 (11 innings)
Ozzie Albies sac fly in the 11th scores the winning run.
Koi over Kraken, 2-1
Brandon Woodruff has been another hard luck case (2.92 ERA, 0.96 WHIP), pitching six brilliant innings, striking out 10 to raise his record to 3-5.
Sweets over Madmen, 9-2
Walla Walla pounds out 16 hits, four from Jeff McNeil who raises his average to .324, for the easy victory.
Wolves over Argos, 7-2
Zac Gallen outduels Max Fried. Mike Trout extends his league lead in homers with his 24th and RBI's with three (65 RBI on the season).
Rougarou over Bums, 5-3
Lakeview comes from behind to score the win with a three run seventh inning. Carson Kelly delivers the big blow with a two run double.
Robots over Brewers, 8-7
Trailing 7-1 going into the late innings, Roxbury scores five in the seventh inning to get close and then wins it on Seth Brown's two run, walk off double in the ninth.
