Series Highlights

Brewers at Sea Wolves
Santa Ana welcomes Grants Pass to town; Grants Pass doesn't feel the welcome.  Game one is a 16 hit, 15-4 blowout in favor of the home team.  In game two, the Wolves do something no other team has been able to do all season; knock Yu Darvish around (9 hits, 8 runs) and they take an 8-3 victory.  Game three is a little more competitive, but the Sea Wolves never trail and sweep the Brewers out of town with a 5-3 win.  Aaron Judge is the rudest of the hosts, going 6-8 with four home runs over the first two games before Brewer pitchers decide they have learned their lesson and walk him three times in game three.

Sweets at Kraken
Brooklyn welcomes Walla Walla to town after sweeping Mother Lode in their previous series.  They don't treat the Sweets any better, completing a sweep of the hottest team in the league, running their WINNING STREAK TO SIX GAMES.  Between 7-4 and 8-1 wins in the first and third games, Nestor Cortes leads the Kraken pitching staff as they shutout Walla Walla on three hits in the middle game.

Dogs at Robots
Scurvy pitching line in game one: 9 IP - 4 hits - 0 runs - 15 K's.  That'll win some games.  Hunter Renfroe homers in the first for the only run the Dogs will need in the eventual 3-0 win.  Game two goes into extras where Shohei Ohtani decides to end it with a colossal . . . seeing eye single for the go ahead run.  Ohtani takes the hill for game three and pitches five strong inning, leaving with a 4-2 lead.  The Scurvy bullpen blows the lead before Hunter Renfroe rescues them with a game winning eighth inning homer as the Dogs sweep through Roxbury.

Miners at Garden Hammers
It's been a tough season in Phoenix and a trip to Hawaii sounds like a nice respite.  Unfortunately for Miner faithful, the Hammers show no mercy, sweeping Phoenix right back off the island.  It's the offense that does the damage, totaling 35 hits (including seven home runs) and scoring 27 runs over the three games.

Koi at ACL's
Ankeny's offense takes game one, 11-1.  The ACL's pitching does the job in game two, shutting out the Koi, 6-0.  Game three is a barn burner.  Arizona jumps out to a 5-0 lead after two innings.  In the seventh, Ankeny fights all the way back to tie the game at 7 apiece.  The Koi retake the lead in the top of the ninth on Jesus Sanchez and Michael Chavis RBI singles.  Oneil Cruz comes to the plate for the home standing ACL's in the bottom of the ninth with two on and two out, trailing by one and deposits a game winning walk off homer into the right field seats as Ankeny sweeps the series with a wild 11-9 victory.

Thunder at Madmen
Motor City takes game one on Bobby Dalbec's walk off double in the ninth.  Robbie Ray outduels Clayton Kershaw in game two and the Madmen win 5-1.  Tucson recovers to take one game of the series with an 8-1 victory in game three.  Spencer Strider capitalizes on Yu Darvish's bad outing yesterday by pitching six innings of one run ball to lower his ERA to a now league leading 1.57.  Strider's 10-1 record, along with his 1.57 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and league leading 163 K's puts him firmly in the Cy Young discussion.

Auk at Inflatable Tubemen
Whacky bounces back after an opening game loss to win the series with 8-1 and 5-2 victories in the final two games.  J.T. Realmuto has a game in the final contest, going a perfect 3-3 with a run scored, 3 RBI and 3 stolen bases.

Argonauts at Landlubbers
Mother Lode drops their fourth straight in game one before rebounding to win the series.  In game two, the Argos come back for a 4-3 victory with single runs in the eighth and ninth.  In the rubber match, Max Fried pitches seven strong innings and Josh Hader gets the final three outs for his league leading 20th save.

Bums at Rattlers
Bako takes game one, but then drops a pair of close contests in Windy City as the home team wins the series. In game three, Bako's Pablo Lopez is staked to a 3-0 lead and is cruising before crashing hard in the fifth.  A single, a pair of walks and a Starling Marte grand slam in the fifth, send Lopez to the showers and the Bums to a 4-3 defeat.

Anglerfish at Rougarou
San Diego take game one as Matt Olson and Jonathan India homer.  In game two, Lakeview ace and Cy Young candidate, Justin Verlander pitches seven brilliant innings in which he gives up just one run on three hits while striking out 11 and should have recorded the victory.  But the Rougarou bullpen is not able to hold a slim 2-1 lead and the Anglerfish rally for a 4-2 win.  The Rougarou follow Miles Mikolos' shutout seven innings in game three to win the final game of the series, 6-1.
