Sept 2-4

Series Highlights

With the top eight teams in the KML playing each other, will there be any separation between the teams or will the chaos continue...

Tubemen at Hammers
The two second place teams meet in paradise, and somehow some baseball actually gets played.  The homestanding Hammers take two games in the series to take sole possession of second place in the conference.  Paul Goldschmidt continues his MVP level season with a pinch hit three-run homer in the seventh to give the 'roided ones the victory.

Rougarou at ACL's
Ankeny has been hanging around the fringes of the playoff race all season, while Lakeview has been in contention all season even spending a little time at the top of the division.  The ACL's win the rubber match behind Ramon Urias and Mookie Betts homers to take the series and move themselves into a three way tie for the final playoff spot in the conference.  Lakeview's Justin Verlander continues his march toward a Cy Young (18-4, 1.61 ERA), striking out 10 in six innings of work in game two to lead the Rougarou to their victory in the series.

Landlubbers at Rattlers
The defending champs arrive in Windy City hoping to move up the standings, but the Rattlers squash that hope and take two of three in the series.  Windy City takes a pair of one run victories in the first two games before Ann Arbor roars back in the final game to cruise to a 12-2 win.

Sea Wolves at Kraken
Brooklyn, like Ankeny, has been hanging around the edges of playoff contention most the year and welcoming the front running Sea Wolves to town affords the Kraken a chance to pull closer and draw Santa Ana back to the pack.  They do their best, taking two of three from the Wolves and come within an extra inning one run loss in the middle game of completing the sweep.

With lower standing teams winning each of the four series' this round, the KML has tightened again.  EIGHT teams are still in the hunt for the playoffs with just two games separating five teams for the final wild card spot.  Still . . . . absolute chaos!

Sweets at Thunder
Tucson wins either end of the three game series to pull a game closer to the Frick leading Sweets.  Game one is another Spencer Strider gem as the Thunder ace allows just one run over six innings while striking out 14 to run his record to 14-2 and lower his league leading ERA to 1.59.

Miners at Argonauts
After dropping game one to snap their nine game winning streak, Mother Lode takes the next two behind back to back gems from Ryan Yarbrough (7-1 IP, 0 R, 7 K's) and Drew Rasmussen (7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 7K's).  The series win pulls the Argos to within one game of Walla Walla.

Bums at Auk
Bako prolongs the Auk's woes, sweeping through Great.  Jeffrey Springs stays perfect (6-0 on the year) with six strong innings in game two and Pablo Lopez backs that performance up in game three, leading the Bums to a 4-0 shutout, their league leading 14th on the season.

Anglerfish at Brewers
Grants Pass tries to get back on track as San Diego comes to town.  Game one doesn't go well for the home team, an 8-6 extra inning win for the visitors.  But the Brewers slough off the loss and take the next two in the series to pull a game closer in the Frick standings.  Game two is a close 3-1 affair, but the Brewers run out to a commanding 9-1 lead after three innings in game three to effectively put the game out of reach early.

Robots at Madmen
Two very closely matched teams play a very closely contested series.  Motor City takes the series at home two games to one, winning the final game 3-1.  The two teams are never more than two runs apart the entire series.
