Sept 8-10

Series Highlights

A little jockeying between teams in the Frick, but the top remains knotted up between three teams still.  And a sweep in the Great northwest pulls a fifth team even closer.

Koi at Brewers
The Brewers have righted the ship after a stumble at the beginning of September, and a three game sweep of Arizona at home brings the Brewers within one game of the playoffs and just three games from the conference lead.  It's a pitching clinic put on by Grants Pass, with the staff giving up just 13 hits and 5 runs over the three games, while striking out 34 Koi batters.

Thunder at Argos
Tucson marches into Mother Lode one game back and leaves two games ahead and tied for the conference lead.  Another skipper riding a lock down closer just a little too far costs the Argos in game one, as after 46 pitches, Josh Hader gives up the winning run in the top of the tenth.

Sweets at Miners
Walla Walla takes two of three to hold their spot at the top of the three team knot in the Frick.  The Sweets break out the heavy lumber in a game three 12-2 thrashing, riding six homers from six different hitters to the big win and series victory.

Dogs at Bums
Bako wins two of three to also keep hold of their share of the Frick lead.  Pete Alonso is on another homer streak, homering in each game of the series to extend his streak to four straight games with a long ball.

Auk at Anglerfish
After splitting the first two games, San Diego weathers a ninth inning scare to secure the series win at home.  Leading 3-0 into the ninth, the Anglerfish watch Aledmys Diaz club a two run homer to bring the Auk within one before Erasmo Ramirez strikes out the final two batters to end the threat.

Tubemen at Rougarou
Whacky puts a dent in Lakeview's chances with a sweep of the Rougarou.  Deadline pickup Keston Hiura leads the way with seven hits, five runs, nine RBI and four homers over the three games.

Garden Hammers at ACL's
Hawaiian and Ankeny trade shut outs over the first two games ahead of the Hammers taking the rubber match, 8-6.  Hawaiian and Whacky sit tied behind Santa Ana, three games back of the KML lead.

Rattlers at Sea Wolves
Santa Ana takes two of three to hold their lead in the KML.  In the opening game, Joe Musgrove and Kyle Bradish work in and out of trouble all game, eventually recording the shutout of Windy City, 5-0.

Madmen at Landlubbers
Ann Arbor moves clear of Ankeny for the final wild card slot in the KML with a 2-1 series win over Motor City.  Austin Riley has a series, going 9-15 with 3 doubles, 2 homers, and FOURTEEN RBI over the three game set.

Robots at Kraken
Brooklyn gives no ground in the conference, winning their series with Roxbury.  The Kraken sit tied with the ACL's one game back of the final wild card spot.
