Game Highlights

KML Conference

Rougarou 7, ACL's 4
Josh Naylor homers twice and Garrett Whitlock pitches six strong innings to lead the Rougarou to the win and pull them into a tie with Ankeny, one game out of the final wild card spot.

Tubemen 7, Hammers 3
Whacky gets back in the win column with the victory over Hawaiian and moves into sole possession of the fourth wild card spot.

Sea Wolves 4, Kraken 3
This may be a game that costs Brooklyn dearly.  Holding a 3-0 lead into the sixth, the Kraken lose the lead and end up dropping the game on Taylor Ward's walk off single in the bottom of the ninth.  Santa Ana drops their magic number to two.

Landlubbers 5, Rattlers 3
Ann Arbor rides a five run third inning to the victory and moves into a tie for the first wild card spot.

Madmen 10, Robots 4
Motor City puts up crooked numbers in each of the first four innings to coast to the 10-4 win over Roxbury.  Jacob Stallings provides the knock out punch with a grand slam in the fourth.

Frick Conference

Sweets 3, Thunder 2 (10 innings)
Walla Walla walks off Tucson on Jake McCarthy's tenth inning single and moves two games up on the Thunder for the top spot in the Frick.

Bums 10, Auk 9
In a game started by Josiah Gray (6.91 ERA) and Corey Kluber (somewhere near Infinity the last month...), a slugfest was a foregone conclusion.  Chief among the slugfest-ers is Bums first baseman, Pete Alonso who connects on three home runs and drives in five runs.  The three homers ties Alonso with Aaron Judge atop the league leader board with 50 long balls; the third time over his four seasons he has topped the 50 HR mark.

Argos 3, Miners 0
Mother Lode pitching throws a three hit, 10 K shutout at Phoenix to stay four back of the Sweets.

Dogs 5, Koi 3
Scurvy continues their late season push to fifth place with the 5-3 victory in Arizona.

Anglerfish 3, Brewers 2
Sean Bouchard plates the winning run in walk off fashion with a ninth inning bases loaded single.

I’m so I’m favor of scrapping the ghost runner rule in the postseason! Can’t start soon enough. Great game, tho, Butch. Rubber game tomorrow!
