Press Clippings / Re: April 18th

It should be noted that Chicago has swept the defending Champions, Lakeview in the opening series. It was average starting pitching, a good enough bullpen and an offense that just wouldn't quit averaging a little more than 7 runs per game in the series. I'm sure that Lakeview will turn it around.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Yetis 5, Auk 3
JJ Bleday rips his first homer just inside the right field foul pole, a three run shot in the 4th and Cole Ragans makes that hold up with eight dominant innings.  Ragans gives up four hits and two runs, but walks none while striking out 12 Auk hitters.

Kraken 6, Robots 0
Michael Lorenzen and Chris Martin combine to shutout Roxbury on six hits.  Isaac Paredes homers, scores three and drives in two to lead the offense.

Runners 6, Rougarou 3
Chicago hammers out a late win when pinch hitter Joey Menses crushes a three run homer just inside the right field foul pole in his first at bat of the season.

Miners 3, Sweets 2
Phoenix rookie Reese Olson goes pitch for pitch with Julio Urias, coming out on top with seven excellent innings.  Fellow rookie battery mate Patrick Bailey provides the winning run with an RBI single in the seventh.

Dogs 3, Bums 1
George Kirby outduels Pablo Lopez, allowing just a solo homer to Pete Alonso.  Shohei Ohtani homers for the third straight game, a two run shot in the third, to provide all the offense Kirby requires.

Koi 3, Brewers 2
Into extra innings tied 1-1, Grants Pass breaks on top in the top of the tenth on Bryson Stott's RBI double.  An error by centerfielder Ketel Marte allows the tying run to score for Arizona in the bottom of the frame and then Josh Naylor plates the winning run one out later for a Koi victory.

Madmen 5, Landlubbers 3
Motor City walks to the win . . . literally.  In the bottom of the eighth the Madmen capitalize on a hit batsman and four walks to score two runs without a hit for the winning margin.

Hammers 6, ACL's 0
Jon Gray and two relievers shutout Ankeny on four hits.  Anthony Santander and Juricson Profar homer to lead the offense, with Profar driving in four of the Hawaiian runs.

Argos 7, Thunder 6
Mother Lode jumps out to a 7-0 lead after three and then holds on as the Thunder keep chipping away.  Two runs by Tucson in the eighth make the game a one run affair before Argo closer Andres Munoz comes in and shuts the door with a five out save.

Wolves 6, Rattlers 3
Santa Ana first baseman Brandon Belt homers twice, Alex Kirilloff hits his second on the season, and the Wolves make the most of just five hits to prevail in Windy City.
