April 22

HotN:
Little known fact - if you play H2H you get the Highlight Of The Night, it's the in the rules. Well, not really. But you know what I mean :) And as such, the Rougarou and Rum Runners played 2 H2H games (4/19 and 4/20 game dates).

In the first game, the Rougarou took a 5-2 lead in the 3rd, powered by a 4-run 3rd. Both Bellinger and Bogaerts hit HR in the frame, but they could have scored more had Gennett not been thrown out trying to steal 3rd. The Rum Runners tied it back up in the 5th on a Mancini HR. From there it stayed tied at 5 until the top of the 9th, when Hosmer hit the game-winning HR for the 6-5 win for the Rougarou.

In the 2nd game, I'm not sure what series of events lead to Sabathia coming into the game in a relief role in the 7th, but to say it was ineffective would be an understatement. His 2nd pitch lead to a 2-run HR by Rizzo and it went downhill from there. Sabathia ended up pitching 1.2 innings of relief, allowing 6 runs (4 earned) with 7 hits and a walk. Rum Runners win 11-5.

Honorable Mention #1:
Madmen beat the Devils 8-5 on a 3-run walkoff HR by Donaldson.
Devils answered with a 12-3 beatdown in G2. Goldschmidt with 2 HR and 5 RBI.

Honorable Mention #2:
Cache Hogs steal one from the Landlubbers 10-8. Landlubbers batted around in the 6th and lead 8-3 after the top of the 7th. But the Cache Hogs came back, getting 4 in the 8th to tie it and a 2-run walkoff HR by McCann for the win.

Honorable Mention #3:
Dogs win 9-0 over the Nomads. Petit was the star, going 7 innings allowing only 2 hits, 0 walks, and 10 strikeouts for his first win.

And Rum Runners finish off the 3-game homestand. DMB knows you shouldn't play in Boston in April. The team has only had five home games in this early season.
