This was destined to be a close, hard fought game between the East rivals - and it was. The ACL's struck first, getting a solo HR by Longoria in the top of the 2nd. But the Cache Hogs answered right back in the bottom of the 2nd getting 2 runs via a pair of walks and a pair of singles. The score stayed 2-1 until the bottom of the 5th when Judge connected on a 2-run HR (3rd game in a row with a HR) to make the score 4-1 for the Cache Hogs and the home fans started going nuts. But the ACL's weren't done yet, and they got it from the least likely of places. In the top of the 8th Contreras (.087/.160/.261 for the series) lead off with a HR and the next batter Fowler (.080/.233/.080) reached via error. Joyce (.080/.233/.120) got Fowler into scoring position. Alonzo, who was basically carrying the team on his back at this point ( .333/.467/.500) drove him in with a single and the home team fans got really quiet.

But Stroman was able to get Conforto to strike-out and Longoria grounded out to 2b to end the threat. Robertson pitched around a 2-out pinch-hit single for his 3rd save and the Cache Hogs advance to play the Asterisks in the World Series. Congrats to Jason on a great season, his team was thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis close.

The votes were close enough to necessitate a recount for the series MVP. The two nominees are
Judge - .462/.533/.846 with 3 HR, 5 runs, 8 RBI
Stroman - 2-0 in 2 starts, 1.76 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 13 K's

Heck of a series by both teams. Excited for Hogs v. A**terisks. Should be another good one.
