April 10th (doubleheader)

HotN
Kraken take the series from the Landlubbers with a split tonight. Last year these two teams didn't face off until like August or something silly. This year they had an early season matchup which allows them to better see how they fare against their rival. Brooklyn is starting the season off this season like they have something to prove after missing out on their World Series dreams last year as they are tied for the best record in the league at 7-2. The Landlubbers are scuffling a bit at 4-5, even though this reporter has picked them to win it all this year. Fingers might be started pointing at Landlubbers leadoff hitter Brian Anderson, who is only hitting .105/.171/.132 in front of MVP candidate Yelich.

Honorable Mention #1:
Speaking of teams who haven't yet lived up to some of the preseason hype is the Miners. Although they did win tonight with a 12-1 win over the Koi. Rough early season scheduling? Small sample size? Time to fire the manager? Only time will tell.

(dis)honorable Mention #2:
Since we're kind of on a downer for this reporting I thought I'd list some guys, who like Anderson, are struggling to start the season. Avert your eyes, some of these numbers are painful

Stanton (Koi) - .083/.132/.167 in 36 AB
Avila (Bums) - .040/.250/.160 in 25 AB
Andujar (Rum Runners) - .000/.118/.000 in 15 AB
Pujols (Brewers) - .097/.171/.226 in 31 AB
Hamilton (Rougarou) - .043/.120/.043 in 23 AB
Bellinger (Rougarou) - .071/.161/.107 in 28 AB
Rendon (Cutthroats) - .061/.114/.152 in 33 AB
Granderson (Cutthroats) - .091/.130/.136 in 22 AB
Bour (Sweets) - .063/.179/.156 in 32 AB
Perez (Rattlers) - .086/.111/.257 in 35 AB

And the Rougarou, Cutthroats, and Rainiers are each batting under the Mendoza Line as a team.

Finally there's Wil Myers, we might have to start tracking this on a nightly basis. Myers is "batting" (ready for this) .000/.000.000 over 28 AB. Who gets a hit first? Myers in Mutiny or Chris Davis for the Orioles? That should be a GIG question at this point...

I think it's interesting that the Rum Runners who call Fenway Park home have also opened their first nine games on the road. The start to the season has been eerily similar in the w/l column.

Your team is too good to keep losing, bro.  Miners had a tough early schedule, that's all it is. A few balls go your way and you're .500 against a few of the best teams in the league.  I think you're gonna be fine and competing well soon.
