June 23rd

HotN:
An easy, no brainer nomination as Scherzer threw a no-hitter. Congrats to Chris for having one of his players achieve this rare event.

It was billed as a huge pitching matchup as Scherzer entered 9-2 with a 1.82 ERA for the Cache Hogs against deGrom for the Landlubbers who was 7-7 with a 2.00 and coming off a one-hitter in his last time on the mound.

But the night belonged to Scherzer as the Cache Hogs won 4-0. deGrom only allowed 4 hits, but two of them were HR to Trout and Dickerson so he ended up with the 3 earned runs.

Anyway. Scherzer's line for the night.
9 innings, 0 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks, 8 K's, 118 pitches.
Both of Scherzer's walks came in the 4th inning as the Landlubbers got runners on 1st and 3rd. But Scherzer got a FB to centerfield and ended the game getting 16 straight batters out.

Fun side note - Cache Hogs 3b Robertson was ejected in the top of the 3rd for arguing balls/strikes. So he had to watch the rest of the game from the locker room and missed out on the celebration afterwards. His replacement Healy isn't a slick defender (PR 99 at 3b). That might have been the kiss of death for the no-no but Healy only had to make one play the rest of the game, a 5th inning pop-up.

Honorable Mention:
Hard to nominate anything else when there's a no hitter on the books, so I'll make this quick. Two teams are streaking at the moment - the Kraken (winners of 11 straight) and the Koi (winners of 9 straight).
