July 28

HotN:
The opening game of the Dogs/Kraken series was a fun one (for Brooklyn fans). The Dogs took a 6-0 lead into the top of the 8th, but the Kraken were able to tie the game highlighted by a 3-run HR by Realmuto to send it into extra innings. Both teams scored a run in the 10th, but ultimately the Kraken got a 2-run HR by Aguilar to win 9-7 in 12 innings.

Dogs took games 2 and 3, but come up one game short to the Kraken for the GIG question #1. Kraken have the best record in the league at 73-33.

Honorable Mention:
We're nearing the end of July and there really is only 1 playoff chase going on. The Miners and Koi are tied at 59-47 for the final wild card spot in the FF. The Boos are only 4 GB of my Dogs, but at this point both of those teams are assured playoff spots (although a jinx of the Boos would not be unwelcomed). In the KML it appears the Kraken and ACL's will coast to their respective divisions while the Cache Hogs and Landlubbers have healthy leads over the Devils and Rum Runners for the wild card spots with the Rougarou still in the mix too. It's not outside the realm of possibility though that one of them could make a run, but they need to get on it.

The one division worth watching is the BU. The Argos have a 6 game lead over the Sweets, but went into firesale mode this week. Of course the Sweets are actively trying to trade Kershaw, so could the Brewers (7 GB) or Cuttys (10 GB) or Rainiers  (12 GB) make a run? Anything is possible over there...
