Blues at Landlubbers
Smith vs Williams

Finally some offense as this series up to this point has been dominated by SP (and some shaky RP). Unfortunately all of the offense was on one side as the Landlubbers only managed 2 hits and 3 baserunners total.

Smith - 7 innings, 2 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 6 K's

So since I brought up offense and then mentioned how the Landlubbers had essentially none, yeah, that means the Blues had some.

The Blues jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after the 2nd on some small ball tactics in the 1st and a Merrifield HR in the 2nd. But then the wheels fell off for Williams in the 4th.

It could have been even worse had Cain been not caught trying to steal 2b. But the damage was already done by that point as the Blues took an 8-0 lead into the 5th and cruised from there winning 9-1. The series is now tied 2-2 and sim is still mirroring real life as all the games have been won by the road team.

We essentially have a best of 3 series at this point with the Blues having HFA (although they might prefer to be on the road at this point).

G5 - Stripling (Blues) vs Kluber (Landlubbers)
G6 - deGrom (Landlubbers) vs Lugo (Blues)
G7 - Strahm (Landlubbers) vs Sale (Blues)

To this humble reporter, you have to give the edge to the Landlubbers due to Kluber and deGrom having a significant edge in the next two games. But the Landlubbers don't want this to go to G7 and have to face Sale. Having said that, the sim has had quick hooks with Sale this entire postseason and I'm not sure Kyle trusts his bullpen at this point.
