Game 1 of today's doubleheader:

Three teams are still unbeaten:

The Argonauts' pitching was once again great with Wheeler going 7 and giving up 3 runs.  But tonight was all about offense as the Argos put up 14 runs against the Rainiers.  In particular, Tommy Pham, Ryan Braun, and Travis d'Arnaud enjoyed the night at Petco combining for 4 home runs, 8 hits, and 8 RBI.

Not to be outdone, the Cache Hogs pitching combined for 14 strikeouts of the Bums in a 5-2 victory at home.  Veterans Robinson Cano and Joey Votto led the way with 5 hits in 8 ABs and added 3 of the RBI and 2 runs.  But again one of the biggest factors might have been the weather - 35 degrees with a storm threatening the whole time that led to a 29 minute rain delay.  Those Bakersfield Bums just couldn't keep themselves warm.

Except for the Detroit faithful, I don't think anyone was expecting the Madmen to post such a hot start to the season as they beat the Rattlers for their 4th win of the season.  This one was a bit of a nail-biter though.  Entering the 9th, the Madmen were up 5-1, but some well-timed Rattler hitting and a terrible error by Sanzhez brought the score to 5-4.  At that point, Kintzler was finally able to shut down the Rattlers offense for the win.

The Koi came to Coors Field and took advantage of the elevation as they outscored the Dogs 10-2.  Spencer Turnbull couldn't seem to figure out the Koi lineup and was chased after 4.1 IP and 14 men on base.  Not the way the Dogs were hoping to start the season. The Dogs early season troubles have been due to lackluster hitting - that won't continue.

The Landlubbers got on the board so fast that the Cutthroats felt like their world was spinning.  3 runs in the 1st, 5 more in the 2nd, and the Cutthroats suddenly found themselves ready for game 2 of the doubleheader.
