April 9 - 10

April 9

The Blues with masterful coaching in their 1-0 win against the Bums.  Coach Kyle knew that Pineda was tiring after 6+ innings when he brought in Perez who got the ground out on the first pitch.  While it wasn't exactly smooth sailing after that, the Blues pitching kept the Bums under check long enough for the 9th inning rally which was won after an HBP on Bregman.  Perhaps Coach Brendt kept Samardzija in there too long?

Tonight was the type of evening that the Dogs were expecting all year - a 13 run output on 18 hits as they trounced the Argonauts 13-4 at home.  It seemed like the whole team was on fire though a couple of standouts - the rookie Keston Hiura with 2 hits and 4 RBIs and the combination of Ohtani (3 for 4) then Turner (3 for 4) just kept men on the bases all night long.

April 10

The ACLs take care of things at home in sweeping the Cache Hogs who have been in a bit of a swoon after a hot start.  Michael Conforto had a great series going 6-11 with 2 home runs.  He's now hitting .424 on the year.  Perhaps the stat of the series though was the Hogs lack of clutch hitting - 27 men left on base over 3 games.

Don't look now, but the Landlubbers just swept the Kraken on the road and outscored them 20-9.  A heck of an effort from the visiting Ann Arbor though I guess when you're only 45 minutes from home, your fans can travel well.  That also begs the question - how is the general Detroit metro area doing such a spectacular job supporting 3 baseball teams?

After losing the first one in Roxbury, the Rougarou come storming back in winning game 2 (5-4) and game 3 (7-4).  Interestingly, the Rougarou outhit the Robots in their one loss (13 hit to 9), but then got outhit in their two wins (5 to 8 in game 2 and 9 to 10 in game 3).
