April 30 - May 2

An update on the first 3 games of this 13 game stretch:

Jarrod Dyson was caught stealing on his first attempt after being included in the Game Inside the Game this week so congratulations to all who guessed that he would be caught at some point.
As for quality starts, Castillo did not post one in his start on April 30 so he's out.  Minor however did post one on April 30th so he keeps it going.
Finally, in a very high scoring series, the Miners took out the Sweets 2 games to 1.  Game 1 was a Sweets victory 11-7, then the Miners struck back 12-0, and ended the series with a 17-9 win.  56 runs in 3 games - 18 runs scored per game.  The pitchers are headed in to all get their arms checked.

A couple other series results:

The Dogs swept the Bums at home, the ACLs have won the first 3 (of 4) on the road against the Robots and the Rattlers have won the first 3 (of 4) at home against the Kraken.  A couple interesting games as well:

A Jacob DeGrom shutout against Chris Sale was the highlight of April 30th.  DeGrom went the full 9 IP, allowed only 3 hits, and had 13 strikeouts.  He was throwing lasers all night and is doing his best to keep the Argonauts alive in the touch Uecker division.

The aforementioned 17-9 Miners win against the Sweets was definitely not notable for the pitching, but rather for the Miners 27 men on base.  Every Miner except McCann had a hit (though McCann did also have a sac fly) with Springer leading the way - 4 for 6 with 2 home runs.  But the one Sweet hurting the most after this loss?  Jeff McNeil who was hit by pitch twice this game.  Fortunately for McNeil, he was HBP by Wade Miler (92 mph top fastball) and Alex Mills (90 mph top fastball).
