April 8th
No long winning streaks to start this season. Lakeview, Windy City, and Motor City all fall today after starting 3-0.
~ Lakeview carries a 4-1 lead into the 8th inning, but starter German Marquez gets into trouble and a bullpen breakdown allows Roxbury to mount a comeback. Avisail Garcia and Alex Gordon hit back to back homers in the 8th to tie the game and Willy Adames hits the game winning shot leading off the 9th.
~ Windy City is shutout by Chicago's Brad Peacock and two relievers on three hits. Ender Inciarte provides all the offense the Runners need with a 2-run home run and Chicago gets their first win of the season.
~ Motor City jumps out on top in the top of the first stringing together a couple singles and a walk for a 1-0 lead, but Kevin Cron makes that lead disappear with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. Paul Goldschmidt doubles in two more runs in the second inning and Hawaiian cruises from there behind starter J.A. Happ and four relievers who allow just three hits and a walk over the final eight innings.
