April 14-15

Game Highlights - April 14th

~ A balanced offensive attack that sees all starters collect at least one hit drives Moonstruck to their fourth straight win, an 8-5 victory over Arizona.  The win moves the Blues into a tie atop the Scully.

~ Ankeny starter Mike Minor gives up five runs in the bottom of the first, and closer Felipe Vazquez blows the lead in the ninth giving up two home runs, but the ACL's still walk off with their seventh straight victory when Juan Soto triples in the 10th and scores on Mookie Betts' sacrifice fly.  Ankeny's lineup is beginning to hit its stride, pounding out seven doubles, two triples and a homer in scoring 11 runs today.

~ Leading off the game the Argonauts offense goes single, single, walk, grand slam to jump out to a 4-0 lead.  New York makes the game interesting, but Mother Lode holds on for an 8-5 win over the Knights.

Game Highlights - April 15th

~ Detroit's Lucas Giolito turns in a gem of a start, throwing seven shutout innings while striking out eleven.  Reliever Corbin Burnes completes the 5-0 shutout and the Maniax climb back over .500.

~  The Pitching Performance of the Night, and probably the year so far, goes to Stephen Strasburg of the Rum Runners.  The Chicago ace throws a three hit complete game shutout and strikes out 15 to lead the Runners to a 5-0 victory over Lakeview.

~ A largely dormant Bako offense picks today to break out with 15 runs on 15 hits.  Nolan Arenado reaches base all five appearances and scores five runs and Daniel Murphy hits a 3-run home run and collects 5 RBI.  But it is David Dahl who leads the way.  Dahl opens the scoring with a grand slam in the first inning and followed that with a 3-run homer in his next at bat to total 7 RBI in the game.

~ ACL pitching gives up 10 runs for the second straight game, but this time the offense is not able to overcome the pitching woes.  Roxbury cracks five home runs, including two during a four run ninth inning rally.  Jose Osuna delivers the knockout punch with a two run walk off double and the Robots take the 10-9 victory.
