April 19th-20th

Game Highlights - April 19th

~ Phoenix' Jose Quintana continues his early season roll, throwing seven, one-hit, shutout innings.  Quintana is now 3-0 and has allowed just one run over his first 19 innings.  Offensively, the Miners pound out 14 hits and score an 11-0 victory over Moonstruck.

~  Bottom of the 12th inning, tied 7-7, Ann Arbor's Mark Canha leads off with a triple bringing the mighty Kevin Plawecki to the plate.  Plawecki lines the second pitch he sees into right field giving the Landlubbers an 8-7 walk off victory over Detroit.

~ New ownership seems to agree with the Pittsburgh franchise.  The Honey Badgers lead MSB early on not only with the best record, but also with the largest Run Differential.  Behind a strong start from Robbie Ray and a pair of home runs from third baseman Bryan Reynolds, the Badgers score a 6-2 win today, leading them to...

Game Highlights - April 20th

~ ...Their seventh straight win today, a 5-2 victory over New York.  Bryan Reynolds has another big game with three hits (raising his average to .373) and Eloy Jimenez also continues his hot start, driving in his 16th run of the young season.  Dylan Bundy strikes out eight Knights in eight innings of work and Kirby Yates pitches a perfect ninth for his fifth save.

~ Rolla keeps  . . . . . . rolling... (Okay, I promise that will be the last time I type that...).  Keeping pace with the league leading Badgers, the Sweets score a tough 3-2 victory over Mother Lode.  The offensive hero is Hunter Renfroe who drives in all three runs on a first inning RBI single and a fourth inning 2-run homer.

~ Arizona and Scurvy hook up for 13 innings of play today . . . or maybe the more apt description would be 13 innings of pitching today.  Both offenses decided to take a day off and combine to collect just four hits and score just three runs.  (Rumors of snoring being heard in the stadium could not be conformed prior to publication)  The Koi escape with the 2-1 win with a walk, single and the game winning sacrifice fly by Bo Bichette.
