April 23-24

Game Highlights - April 23rd

~ Ankeny's Mookie Betts and Gleyber Torres combine for six hits, four home runs and six RBI between them, however the rest of the lineup collects just one hit total.  Yoan Moncada triples, homers and drive sin six runs for Chicago, and the rest of the Runners offense manages quite a bit more than one hit.  Chicago tee's off for 13 runs off six ACL pitchers in their 13-6 battering of Ankeny. Offense will not be the problem for the reigning champions, but pitching could derail a chance to repeat.

~ Phoenix walks off New York courtesy of a Nelson Cruz two out, two strike blast in the bottom of the ninth.

~ A rough start to the game by Roxbury's Dustin May (walk...walk...hit batter...grand slam homer) doesn't get much better for the Robots.  Joey Gallo earns the Hitting Performance of the Night award with three home runs (including that first inning grand slam) and seven RBI to lead Motor City to an 11-3 thumping of the Robots.

Game Highlights - April 24th

~ A wild bottom of the ninth in Moonstruck incudes a single, a caught stealing, a walk and a walk off homer.  After Alex Bregman singles with one out and then gets caught stealing (seriously, Alex...) for the second out, Michael Brantley walks and George Springer rips a two run walk off homer to bail out their teammate and give the Blues a 6-5 victory.

~ Sweeping a three game series at home, Arizona cools off the previously high flying Honey Badgers.  Sandwiched around a 12-4 blowout yesterday, the Koi take two hard fought one run victories in game's 1 and 3.  Against the previously stingy Pittsburgh pitching staff, the Koi collects 16 walks, hammers out 33 hits, and scores 28 runs in the series.
