May 4-5

Game Highlights - May the 4th...

~ Moonstruck's Caleb Smith is channeling teammate Clayton Kershaw.  Through six starts, Smith is undefeated at 4-0 and has posted a 1.78 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and allowed opposing batters just a .160 average.  Tonight's Pitching Performance of the Night sees Smith pitch seven two-hit shutout ball to lead the Blues to a 1-0 victory.  Through 8 1/2 innings the Blues and Koi combine for a total of four hits and no runs, and then leading off the bottom of the ninth Eugenio Suarez deposits his 9th home run into the seats in left field to send the Blues home in walk off style.

~ Ann Arbor pitching throws a three hit, 11 K shutout at the powerful Motor City lineup, but the star(s) of the game are the Landlubber hitters.  Crushing four home runs among 16 hits, the balanced attack scores in six of eight innings as the Landlubbers mow down the Madmen, 13-0.

~ Another blowout victory sees the Miners blow out Lakeview, 11-1.  Phoenix scores early and cruises behind a pair of home runs from Adam Frazier, Nelson Cruz' 7th tater, and Matt Chapman's 9th.

Game Highlights - Cinco de Mayo

~ Grants Pass rolls into Bako on owner Brandon Crews' birthday, expecting big brother Brendt's Bums to forfei . . . yeah right.... However, after their first series in Grants Pass saw Bako take three out of four and pummel Brewers pitching for 35 runs, Eduardo Rodriguez and his bullpen mates hold Bako to just a single run to make sure the birthday boy celebrates with a 6-1 win.

~ After a 2-1 victory tonight, Detroit has run off EIGHT straight wins to climb toward the top of the Caray.  RBI singles in the sixth inning from Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jose Abreu and a strong seven innings from starter Pablo Lopez lead the way for the Maniax who are, unfortunately for them, still in the same division as...

~ The ACL's, who run off their SEVENTH straight win to stay clear of the hard charging Maniax.  An 8-0 shutout is led by someone other than MVP front runner Mookie Betts, as Miguel Sano rips his 10th home run and Gleyber Torres hits his 11th AND 12th to lead the offense.
