Game Highlights

~  NINE in a row for Ankeny.  Mike Soroka moves to 3-0 since being promoted a week and a half ago, and (surprise, surprise...) Mookie Betts collects three hits (raising his average to .407), two home runs (12 on the season) and 3 RBI (40 in 31 games).  Betts leads the league in average, OBP, SLG, OPS, Hits, Runs, RBI, and peace treaties forged with foreign enemies...

~  Mother Lode has risen from the ashes and sits just two games out of the Uecker division lead.  Shogo Akiyama and Stephen Vogt lead the offense tonight with a couple runs scored each and Kyle Hendricks pitches eight strong to earn his fifth win.

~ Windy City's Mike Leake has to be the unluckiest pitcher in the league right now.  Despite posting a 2.13 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP over seven starts, Leake's record sits at just 2-4.  Run support has been at a premium for Leake but tonight he makes two runs stand up with the Pitching Performance of the Night, completing a 2 hit shutout on just 105 pitches.

~  I guess it was too much for the rest of the Scully to hope that Scurvy would finish with 60 wins on the season... After a dismal 9-17 start, the Dogs have run off five straight wins and are showing some life.  Gerrit Cole pitches another gem, striking out 12 while pitching into the 8th and Tanner Scott finishes off the 2 hit shutout for Scurvy with a five out save.
