Game Highlights
~ Anthony Rizzo homers in the bottom of the 5th inning to tie the score 2-2, and then lines a one out triple to to deep center to plate two runs and drive the Rum Runners to a walk off 4-3 victory over Roxbury.
~ Stop me if you've heard this refrain before: Jacob deGrom pitches brilliantly . . . . and leaves on the wrong side of a win. Channeling the real-life NY team, the Brooklyn offense sleepwalks through the game failing to score even a single run in support of deGrom's 8+ shutout innings. The Kraken eventually break through in the 11th scoring the only run of the game on a Mike Moustakas walk off double.
~ On the heels of a nine game winning streak, Detroit has now won five in a row and owns the second best record in the league at 24-12 after a 5-4 nail biter over Motor City. Unfortunately for the Maniax . . . . well, you know...
~ Could someone please Tonya Harding the Miners. Sincerely, Weeping Willie
