Game Highlights
~ "5 innings and pray for rain" would have been a popular refrain in Detroit tonight. Leading 4-0 through six innings with Joe Musgrove pitching a two hit shutout, the Maniax look well on their way to a victory over Windy City. Madmen bats wake up though, cranking out 12 hits and scoring 10 runs over the final three innings, sending Detroit to a demoralizing 10-4 loss.
~ An 8-4 lead in the bottom of the ninth looks secure for Ann Arbor, but Landlubber supporters run for the Pepto after closer Kenley Jansen is called on with one out and one on and promptly walks the first batter he faces before serving up a three run homer to Trevor Story. Thankfully for the Landlubber faithful everywhere, Jansen escapes any further scrapes, closing out the game one out later.
~ A walk off wild pitch in the 13th inning sends Robot fans home happy after a 4-3 win over Brooklyn. Jordan Luplow triples with one out in the 13th and then two pitches later slides under the tag of Kraken pitcher David Bednar after Bednar bounced a 50 foot curveball past his catcher.
