June 22-24

Game Highlights - June 22nd

~ Aided by three Ankeny errors, Arizona ends the ACL's win streak with a come from behind 4-3 win.  Bryce Harper drives in two and Giancarlo Stanton goes 4-5 and drives in his 60th run to lead the Koi.

~ Five Argo errors lead to eight unearned runs as Motor City runs away with a 17-1 shellacking of Mother Lode.  While the defense did the pitchers no favors, the Argo staff did give up 18 hits, including five home runs on the night.

Game Highlights - June 23rd

~ Extra innings in Ann Arbor give Mark Canha the opportunity to swat a two run walk off home run in the 10th inning and the Landlubbers knock off New York 4-2.

~ A wild extra inning affair in Motor City.  After six innings the game is tied 1-1.  Final score in 10 innings . . . 10-9!  Take a look at the craziness of the last third of the game.

Game Highlights - June 24th

Wild day all around the league today!

~ ACL's walk off the Dogs, 3-2, in 11 innings.
~ Grants Pass scores six in the top of the ninth to break the hearts of Chicago and take an 8-6 victory.
~ Phoenix blitzes Hawaiian early (four runs in the third), and late (five runs in the eighth) to put the game out of reach.
~ Not sure why Brooklyn's Jacob deGrom wasn't allowed to finish the Pitching Performance of the Night, but he is pulled with two outs in the ninth sitting on a 7-1 lead.
~ Mother Lode's Jeff Hoffman walks seven in 5.2 innings of work but allows just one run.  All hitters in the Argo lineup collect at least one hit and Mother Lode waltzes to an unlikely blowout, 9-1 over Windy City.
~ Chris Paddack and Taylor Guilbeau combine for a three hit, 11 K shutout and Danny Jansen homers with two outs in the first inning to provide the only run of the game in the Landlubbers 1-0 win over the Knights.
~ Arizona's Luis Severino pitches in and out of trouble all night and departs after eight innings with a 7-3 lead.  Detroit however does not roll over and capitulate, scoring five runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk off the Koi, 8-7.
~ Bako's Joey Votto and David Dahl combine to go 7-10 with four home runs, five runs scored and 11 RBI as the Bums route the Rougarou, 11-4.
~ Another walk off extra inning affair ends with a Buster Posey double driving in Josh Donaldson and giving the Madmen the 7-6 win over Rolla.
~ In Roxbury, the Robots pitching staff shoots themselves in the foot by issuing THIRTEEN walks to Moonstruck hitters.  The Robots lineup does its best to bail their pitchers out, collecting 12 hits, including SEVEN home runs, but alas it is not enough and the Blues walk away . . . almost literally . . . with a 12-10 victory.

Told you today was CRAZY WEIRD!

It was crazy and probably took 2.5 hrs to play the last third of the game too! Jordan Hicks gets credit for the Hold even after giving up 5 runs.
