Aug. 26-28

Series Highlights

~  Brooklyn hosts Ankeny for three in a matchup of the two Landis division leaders.  Shane Bieber and Jack Flaherty lock up in a pitchers duel in game 1 with Flaherty winning the battle with eight, one run, 10 K innings to lead the Kraken to a 3-2 victory.  Ankeny evens things up in game 2 after almost giving the game away.  Entering the ninth with a three run lead, ACL first baseman Carlos Santana commits what amounts to a three run error (although two subsequent Kraken doubles are needed to take advantage of said error), before Edwin Encarnacion bails out Santana with a game winning 3-run homer in the tenth.  In game 3, the ACL's take a 2-0 lead into the ninth, and after some bullpen failings on both sides, come away with the 4-1 victory and take the series, 2-1.

Game Highlights - Aug. 26th

~  Sean Manaea faces his former team, Grants Pass, and pitches seven strong giving up just three hits and one run.  Eric Lauer, Manaea's replacement in the Brewer rotation, outpitches Manaea however, allowing just one hit while pitching shutout ball into the seventh.  The Brewers shutout the potent Bums offense on just two hits and take the 1-0 win.

Game Highlights - Aug. 27th

~ Phoenix' Nelson Cruz is heating up.  On this evening against the Sweets, the Miner DH connects for three home runs and drives in seven and Phoenix scores the 11-6 victory.

~ Bako returns the favor on Grants Pass, shutting out the Brewers behind Noah Syndergaard.  Pete Alonso rips his 50th homer of the season, giving him back to back 50+ homer seasons to open his (HOF) career.

Game Highlights - Aug. 28th

~ Roxbury puts a hurting on Windy City, blitzing the Rattlers with 19 hits in their 14-2 win.  As if it wasn't enough for the first three hitters in the Robots lineup to combine for 11 hits, 3 homers, 6 runs scored, and 9 RBI, number nine hitter Hanser Alberto also collects for four hits (double & 2 HR), four runs and four RBI himself.  That's one very effective way to turn the lineup over...
