April 7-8

April 7th

~ Roxbury finishes off a home opening sweep of Brooklyn to stand as the only undefeated team in the league.  After the pitching staff held the Kraken offense to one run in each of the first two games, Robots starter, Antonio Senzatela, goes one better, shutting out the Brooklyn offense on seven hits.  Dominating would probably not be the best definition of Senzatela's outing as he did not record a single strikeout on the night, but nonetheless he managed to induce twenty seven outs without allowing a run.

April 8th

~ Roxbury remains undefeated, knocking out Santa Ana starter Joe Musgrove in the second inning.  The Robots parlay three walks and three hits, including Brett Phillips bases clearing triple in the second, into an early 6-0 lead and cruise from there.

~ Rolla's Merrill Kelly spins a complete game 2-hit shutout in leading the Sweets to a 4-0 victory over Great Auk.

a couple astonishing observations from the Hammers after 2.5% of games played:

we have yet to be outhit in a game.  Not getting a lot of xbh, but lots of contact.
we have yet to commit an error.  I used to focus on good fielding, but not any more.
