April 11-12

April 11th

~ The rumors of Ankeny's demise are greatly exaggerated.  After a 7-5 win over Ann Arbor, the ACL's are sitting in their customary spot atop the KML.  Mookie Betts powers the offense tonight with his first home run and four RBI and Julio Urias battles through six innings to record his second win of the season.

~ Rolla ace Hyun-Jin Ryu slows down the potent Scurvy offense and Eugenio Suarez cracks a pair of home runs as the Sweets down the Dogs, 5-2.

April 12th

~ Down by three entering the ninth, Scurvy loads the bases with two outs.  Pinch hitter Donovan Solano then delivers a bases clearing, game tying double to send the game into extras.  In the 11th, Shohei Ohtani provides the winning run with a solo home run, his second of the game, and the Dogs turn the tables on Rolla with a 10-8 victory.

~ Great Auk starter Logan Webb allows just a single earned run on two hits in seven innings against Arizona.  After six shutout innings in his first start, Webb sits at 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA.  Not a bad start to the season.

~ Windy City's Vladimir Guerrero collects four hits, including his fifth and sixth home runs of the season, and drives in four runs to pace the Rattlers in their 7-3 win over Roxbury.  Guerrero is now on pace for 119.25 home runs in 2022, which I believe would be a league record.
