Series Highlights

Half the series' resulted in sweeps:

~ With a sweep of Rolla, defending champion Ankeny has climbed back above .500.  After a comeback extra inning win in game one that saw the ACL's fall into a 7-0 hole after four innings, the hometown team scores 9-4 and 6-4 victories in the next two games.

~ Phoenix also rises above .500 after their road sweep in Chicago.  Hard fought games each night, culminating in a 13 inning 4-3 battle in the final game.  Tyler O'Neill blasts his 15th homer leading off the top of the 13th and Diego Castillo strikes out two sandwiched around a routine grounder to second to cement the win and the series sweep.

~ Santa Ana continues running roughshod on the league.  After an early .500 start to the season, the Winds have been winning games at a .750 clip.  They complete a home sweep of a very good Scurvy team to run their winning streak to SIX GAMES.  Ozzie Albies is the hero of the series with walk off homers in each of the first two games.

~ Windy City runs their winning streak to SEVEN GAMES after a sweep of Pittsburgh, who is going in the opposite direction with eight straight losses.  Pittsburgh starter Dallas Keuchel gives up just two hits and no runs in seven of his eight innings of work in game one.  Unfortunately he gives up eight hits and eight runs in the fifth inning alone and the Rattlers cruise to an 8-2 win.

~ Great Auk goes into Roxbury and leaves three days later with their own series sweep.  Dylan Moore starts the Auk on their way with a ninth inning game winning two-run homer in game one, leading Great to a 3-2 win.  They finish off the Robots with stellar pitching in the next two games, 5-1 and 4-1 victories.
