Game Highlights
~ Moonstruck pulls out to a 4-0 lead in Santa Ana. The Winds battle back to tie the game on Brandon Belt's RBI double in the seventh. The Blues strike right back in the eighth courtesy of Nick Castellanos who blasts a three run home run deep to left center. Tacking on an insurance run the ninth, Moonstruck defeats the hometown Winds, 8-4 and take two out of three in the series.
~ Ann Arbor forces extras by scoring the tying run in the bottom of the ninth without a ball leaving the infield. The bottom of the inning goes as follows: HBP...Walk...Wild Pitch...IBB to load the bases...infield RBI single. Rolla rightfielder Hunter Renfroe decides to spoil the hometown comeback though when he swats his 19th home run into the bleachers with one out in the 11th. Domingo Tapia works through a single and walk in the bottom of the 11th to secure the Sweets 4-3 win.
~ Newly promoted Tyler Glasnow takes the mound for Scurvy and pitches eight sensational innings. The Dogs offense does not support however and Scurvy and Lakeview head to extra innings tied 1-1. In the top of the 12th, Corey Seager doubles, Jared Walsh almost decapitates Rougarou reliever Garrett Whitlock with his fourth hit of the night, and Shohei Ohtani delivers the winning runs with a two run double into the left center gap. Scurvy salvages the third game of the series to avoid the sweep.
