July 9-11

Today I'm going to highlight an interesting series - Argos at Landlubbers

Heading into the series the Argos are fighting with my Dogs for the final playoff spot in the Frick (1 game back) while the Landlubbers/Rum Runners/Rattlers only have 1 game separating the 3 of them for the 2-4 positions in the KML. At this point there is a serious advantage to not finish 4th and have to face the Winds in the opening round. So with playoff implications on the line and without further ado here we go...

July 9:
The Argos give starter Kim a 3-run lead in the top of the 2nd via a couple walks, infield single, error, wild pitch, and an rbi groundout. But the wheels feel off for Kim in the 4th. 11 batters in total came up to bat, aided by a pair of errors. 5 runs (4 earned) were charged to Kim in the frame which was all Paddock and some RP needed to finish off the 6-4 win. Jansen with his 16th save.

July 10:
This one went extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th with the score tied 2-2 a pair of singles put runners on the corners with Schoop up to bat. However, before Argos closer Iglesias could deliver a pitch he was called for a walk-off balk to take the L. Javier was masterful in relief for the Landlubbers going 4 innings only allowing 1 hit for the win.

July 11:
This one was relatively close (Landlubbers with a 7-3 lead heading into the bottom of the 7th) before the Landlubbers bats exploded. The landlubbers doubled their runs scored, highlighted by a grand slam by all-star Riley. Landlubbers win 14-3, Riley goes 4-5 with 3 runs scored and 5 RBI with 2 HR.

At the end of the night the Landlubbers gave themselves some separation from the Rattlers (who dropped 3 to the Bums) while the Argos fell 4 games behind the Dogs (who took 3 from the Robots)
