Series Highlights
Two big series this run:
~ Struggling Phoenix hosts Moonstruck for three. The Miners woes continue in game one, a 13-5 shellacking, but the hometown team rebounds nicely to claim the final two games and win the series. Cedric Mullins and Luis Urias come through in the late innings of game two to propel Phoenix to a 5-2 victory, and Harold Ramirez provides the winning run in a 4-3 game three Miners win with a seventh inning homer. The series win puts Phoenix back into second place in the Frick.
~ Ann Arbor arrives in Santa Ana hoping to carve into the Winds big KML conference lead. Unfortunately for the Landlubbers, the Winds are rolling again. Although the teams combine for just 10 runs in the three games, Santa Ana gets the better of the pitching and sweeps Ann Arbor to run their WIN STREAK TO ELEVEN GAMES. Winds pitching surrenders just nine hits and three runs over the series and strike out 33 Lubber hitters. Max Scherzer completes the sweep, winning his 18th without a loss in game three.
