Sept 13-14

Game Highlights

Sept. 13th

~ Scurvy rookie Luis Gil knows nothing but winning.  Three starts . . . three wins.  Just to punctuate the start to his career with an exclamation mark, Gil has yet to allow a run in 18 innings of work.  0.00 ERA.  24 K's in 18 innings.  Nice start rookie.

~ Another Sept call up to highlight is Rougarou first baseman, Bobby Bradley.  Bradley doubles and homers twice (five HR in his first 12 games), driving in 4 runs to lead Lakeview to a lopsided 12-3 win over Windy City.  Rougarou ace Walker Buehler wins his 20th game, pitching seven effective innings.

Sept. 14th

~ Moonstruck cracks four homers off Bums pitching in a 14-4 pounding of Bako.  Nick Castellanos and Randy Arozarena homer and drive in four runs each to pace the Blues.

~ Phoenix' Aaron Nola will lead the league in wins, finishing seven shutout innings to lead the Miners to a 9-0 win and collect his 22nd win in the process.  200+ innings, 22-4 record, 2.78 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 233 K's.  That's a Cy young worthy season.

~ Scurvy's Cy Young candidate, Gerrit Cole, will lead the league in K's.  Cole pitches eight strong, striking out six (272 on the season) and winning his 20th game of the season as the Dogs remain tied with Phoenix with an 11-2 wipeout of Grants Pass.
