Salary Offsets for Dogs

James Paxton - missed the entire season due to TJS. $450k salary = $200k SO
Dillon Maples - injured, pitched some in minors before being injured again, missed the entire season. $1.75 mill salary = $875K SO

It seems to me that Maples was available for a long period of time in the minors: https://www.milb.com/player/dillon-maples-596027?stats=gamelogs-r-pitching-mlb&year=2022

Basically April 8 to June 22.  So at least 2.5 of the season's 6 months.  Seems like he was uninjured for more than 70% of the season.  Do you have any other info that I'm unaware of?

You’re correct on Maples. I could have sworn he missed time at the beginning of the year before getting shut down in June.
