Sandy Alcantara (fWAR 5.7) = 3.5M
2nd Year Arbitration
Jack Flaherty (fWAR 0.0) = 1.5M (increase of 500K)
3rd Year Arbitration
Rafael Devers (fWAR 4.9) = 8M (increase of 2.5M)
Brandon Nimmo (fWAR 5.4) = 7.5M (increase of 3.5M)
Ian Happ (fWAR 3.5) = 4.5M (increase of 2M)
Pointing out Lowe as a guy whose numbers would have looked considerably different with cWAR. While the injuries in 22 would have been factored into an arbitrators decision, he certainly would have been paid much closer to what his career output has been vs. the poor 22. This is a prime example of why I do agree that cWAR could be a good measure in first year arb cases, with some adjustments to the proposed scale.
